The wide variety of sealing materials has increased the universal use of the performance characteristics of Y-shaped seals. 1. Working temperature of Y-shaped sealing ring:
The applicable temperature ranges of rubber and plastic seals are quite different. When selecting materials, the working temperature of the seals must be accurately grasped; or the temperature rise of the components, systems, and seals should be controlled according to the working temperature range of the materials.
2. Sealing ring structure type:
The structural type of the seal is different from the working principle of the seal, which inevitably requires different mechanical properties such as elasticity, strength, and deformation rate of the material.
3. Working medium type of Y-shaped sealing ring:
Whether the working medium of the Y-shaped seal ring is liquid or gas, if it is a liquid, the compatibility of the liquid and the material should be considered; the compatibility of the material with the lubricant and grease should also be considered for the gas; the gas and negative pressure sealing should also pay attention to the permeability . If the sealing material is compatible with the sealing fluid, it will cause the seal to expand or contract and cause failure. The expansion causes the frictional resistance to increase, and the seal rolls.
4. Working pressure of Y-shaped sealing ring:
Working pressure is the main working parameter of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, which can vary between 1～400MPa. The pressure resistance of the material should consider whether the application environment can withstand it.
5. Dynamic seal or static seal:
Dynamic seals have corresponding requirements for the friction and wear properties of the material, and the material with the appropriate friction coefficient should be selected according to the movement speed. The service life depends on the speed of movement and the wear resistance of the selected material. When low-speed requirements are required, special attention should be paid to the size of the friction coefficient of the material and the difference between the dynamic and static friction coefficients.
6. Whether the working environment of Y-shaped sealing ring is polluted:
If there is dust pollution in the working environment, material wear will be aggravated, and the wear resistance of the material should be improved. In the case of high vibration, the material should have elastic properties to make up for the lack of seal contact position and stress caused by vibration.
