It is not too difficult to understand the performance of the seal, that is, to avoid leakage and environmental pollution reasonably. To successfully complete the seal in the hydraulic cylinder, it is necessary to balance the subtle relationships among the relevant elements, and this element harms the actual effect of the seal in dynamic use. They include: lubrication and inter-coordination of the surface, design plan elements-such as appearance, sealing ring raw materials and processing technology and environmental elements-such as working pressure, temperature, time, dynamic model and installation.
1. Mastering the effect of lubrication is an important part of achieving successful sealing in a dynamic system. A fully lubricated system will cause oil slick leakage, but it will also reduce friction, which in turn will relatively reduce the damage to the sealing ring. Conversely, in a system that lacks lubrication, oil slick is reduced, but friction and damage are relatively increased.
2. With the increase in the working pressure of the liquid, the sealing performance tends to be sound. Because the system working pressure of the sealing surface reduces the seal radially, the seal is more inseparably pressed into the pipe trench, and the metal material surface of the seal and the pipe trench is more suitable. If the design of the sealing ring is appropriate, along with the increase in the working pressure of the system, the sealing force and efficiency will also increase.
3. Extrusion resistance of the sealing ring is the third primary condition. The seal in the dynamic system must be able to withstand the shear stress caused by the pressure difference between the working pressure side and the non-working pressure side of the seal. Shear stress will send the seal into the gap between the metal surface of the adjacent pipe trench, and the seal material and geometry must be sufficiently strong to resist damage.
